Marvin Architectural manufactures a range of composite aluminium clad wood doors for fitting into frames.

Marvin Composite Aluminium Clad/Wood Outswing/Inswing French Door

A range of custom designed composite Outswing/Inswing French Doors crafted from clear, blemish-free wood with a polished pebble finish combined with a commercial grade 1.3mm extruded aluminium clad exterior, finished with Kynar/ PVDF (a highly non-reactive, thermoplastic fluropolymer).
Marvin Architectural provide a turn-key service from design and specification through to project management and installation. It is recommended that Marvin Architectural is consulted early in the design process.
Marvin windows and doors have been tested to the following standards:
Marvin Composite Aluminium Clad/Wood Outswing/Inswing French Door windows have been tested to 2,000 Pa.
BS 6206:1981 – Flat glass for use in buildings.
They have also been designed to comply with the recent amendments of the Building Regulations including:
Part B: Fire Safety
Part E: Resistance to the passage of sound
Part F: Ventilation
Part L1: Conservation of fuel and power in dwellings
Part L2: Conservation of fuel and power in buildings other than dwellings
Part M: Access and facilities for disabled people
Sound reduction: Standard double glazing will achieve 28dB sound reduction. Optional glazing systems are available to achieve 34dB and in excess of 40dB with the use of the storm screen/combination storm screen.
Composite Aluminium Clad/Wood Outswing/Inswing French Doors have been approved by planning authorities for use in conservation areas.
Thermal values and light transmittance are dependent on the type of glazing selected.

Mulled doors:

Marvin Architectural can link door units in a number of combinations, all with consistent sight lines.

Transom units:

Transom units are fixed glazing units above doors designed to match the varying frame widths of the Outswing/Inswing French Door range. Transom Units may be direct glazed or in-sash. See details below

1.3mm extruded aluminium exterior with two coat 70% Kynar to exceed AAMA 2605 Commercial standard. Available in five standard colours, Stone White, Pebble Grey, Evergreen, Bahama Brown and Bronze. Also available in fourteen Select colours and unlimited custom colours.

Operating hardware:

Locking system: Marvin exclusive concealed multi-point with stainless steel head and foot bolts activated from lever handle, keyed. Available on active and inactive panels.
Hinges: 3/4 adjustable hinges, depending on door height.
Optional lever handle set: Active, inactive and dummy, in powdercoat finishes.
Standard finish: Satin Taupe
Optional metal finish: Brass PVD, Antique Brass, Oil Rubbed Bronze, Satin Chrome, Satin Nickel PVD.

Surface applied interior and exterior bars to simulate true glazing bars with double glazing.
Interior bar: Ponderosa Pine wood, 22mm or 29mm wide bars, finish to match interior. Also available in Mahogany, Douglas Fir, Cherry and White Oak interiors.
Exterior bar: Extruded Kynar finished aluminium clad, 22mm or 29mm wide bars, finish to match exterior.

Optional aluminium spacer bars (between glass panes) available to further simulate an authentic appearance.

Glazing seal: Silicone glazed, to provide additional security and eliminate visible glazing seals between glass and beading.
Standard glazing type: Softcoat Low E II with Argon (to meet Part L requirements).
Optional glazing types: Clear, Laminated, Tempered, Obscure, Bronze tint, Grey tint, Reflective Bronze and Hardcoat Low E.
Glazing will be altitude adjusted for higher elevations, capillary tubes are optional. No Argon Gas.

Preservative treatment:

WOODTREAT MB is a clear water repellent wood preservative which has been specially formulated by Kop–Coat, Inc. for the treatment of millwork prior to factory or field priming, painting, finishing. It penetrates into the wood to provide effective long–term protection from moisture, mould, mildew, decay and wood destroying fungi which would adversely affect the appearance and/or serviceability of the millwork.
A biodegradable additive also manufactured by Kop–Coat, Inc., is added to the WOODTREAT MB for protection against termites, carpenter ants, beetles and other wood-destroying insects.
