When the new owners moved into this property, one of their priorities was to replace the sliding sash windows. The existing windows were in an irreparable state: the frames and sashes were rotten and sticking, with broken and missing parts due to years of neglect. Many of the windows were painted shut, whilst others had excessive gaps between the frames and the sashes, causing rattles and draughts.

The new owners were aware that the market value of their home would improve once the windows had been given a makeover, so they contacted Marvin Architectural in order to reproduce the authentic style.

After a consultation, Marvin Architectural’s refurbishment specialist recommended the installation of Marvin wood sliding sash windows which slide effortlessly due to the counterbalanced pulley system, as part of a complete replacement package. The windows closely match the originals' proportion and style while incorporating Soft-coat Low E sealed double glazed units for high performance as well as Marvin’s unique ‘tilt in to clean’ system.

Almost immediately the owners found that the traffic noise was significantly reduced and thanks to Marvin they were able to have great performing windows and doors whilst maintaining the architectural integrity of the period property.
